JESSIE L. EMBRY, CO-EDITOR

Jessie Embry has been an editor of the Journal of Mormon History since 2015. She retired as the Associate Director of the Charles Redd Center for Western Studies at Brigham Young University. She is the author or editor of twenty-one books, mostly in Mormon and western history. She has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to recovering grassroots non-institutional voices and experiences, including extensive experience in oral history. As a longtime member of MHA, she has served as executive secretary, program chair, and newsletter editor.

CHRISTOPHER JAMES BLYTHE, CO-EDITOR

Christopher Blythe is an assistant professor of English at Brigham Young University. He previously held positions at the Neal A. Maxwell Institute for Religious Scholarship, the Joseph Smith Papers, and the Religious Studies Department at Utah State University. He is the author of Terrible Revolution: Latter-day Saints and the American Apocalypse (Oxford University Press, 2020). He has a PhD in American Religious History from Florida State University, a master’s degree in history from Utah State University and bachelor’s degrees in religious studies and anthropology from USU and Texas A&M University respectively. Before serving as co-editor, Blythe was associate editor and book review editor of the Journal of Mormon History.
