Stephen O. Smoot received an MA in Near and Middle Eastern Civilizations from the University of Toronto and a BA in Ancient Near Eastern Studies from Brigham Young University. From 2015 to 2020 he was a research associate with Book of Mormon Central and in the summer of 2014 was a student intern at the Joseph Smith Papers Project.
