Explore Old Nauvoo with Jenny Lund, Susan Easton Black & Lach Mackay
Our overnight Nauvoo post-conference tour takes us by bus from St Charles, north through Hannibal MO and Quincy IL to the charming city of old Nauvoo. The bus ride discussion will be led by Jenny Lund, of the LDS Church History Department, Historic Sites, and others.
On Sunday and Monday we will join Susan Easton Black, Lach Mackay and others for an exciting and new post-conference experience exploring and walking these same streets of Joseph and Emma Smith’s Nauvoo on a private, after hours tour that takes us to the Smith Homestead and Nauvoo Mansion House. After paying our respects at the graves of Emma, the Prophet Joseph and his brother, Hyrum, the Patriarch. Close the day with a devotional in the Red Brick Store where the Female Relief Society of Nauvoo was organized 175 years ago.
As the city awakes from its slumber on Monday morning we will have an opportunity to tour Historic Nauvoo properties on our own (or in smaller groups), including the homes of Brigham Young, John Taylor and Wilford Woodruff. Other options include the Browning Home and Gun Shop, Seventies Hall, Masonic/Cultural Hall, Sarah Granger Kimball Home and many, many more.
Tuesday’s return trip will go through Carthage IL, visiting the Carthage visitors center or other attractions nearly.
Admissions, overnight lodging and all meals included at these per person prices.
Bus will leave from St Charles on June 4th at 11:00 a.m. and will return to St Louis June 6th by 5:00 p.m.
